Where To Swim In Garmisch, Germany

One of my family’s favorite things to do in Garmisch, Germany, in the summer is swim! The area offers so many different options, from swimming in man-made pools to swimming in natural lakes with super-clear water. If you’re looking to swim when visiting the area, you’re visiting the right location! Below, you’ll see my compiled list of all my favorite places.

Swimming In Garmisch-Partenkirchen & within 15 minutes

Eibsee Lake-Granau, Germany

Eibsee Lake, nestled at the foot of Germany’s highest mountain, Zugspitze, is a mesmerizing destination that captivates visitors with its crystal-clear turquoise waters and breathtaking scenic views. The lake is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, offering a wide range of activities such as swimming in its refreshing waters, canoeing, and paddleboarding. For those who prefer to stay on land, a scenic hiking trail circumnavigates the lake, providing numerous spots for picnics and photography.

Riversee is a small lake in Garmisch, Germany. It’s the perfect place for children to play and take a quick dip. You can also rent paddleboards at the location and have a picnic by the lake.

Grainau Swimming Pool

In the summer, the Grainau pool offers an indoor lap pool, a warm pool, a huge outdoor play area with a blow-up obstacle course, and an outdoor lap pool for the entire family to enjoy.

Farchant Swimming Pool – Warmfreibad Farchant

The Farchant Swimming Pool is my favorite place near Garmisch, Germany. It is about 10 minutes from downtown Garmisch. The Pool has a splash pad, a shallow pool with two giant slides and two kinder slides, and a large pool with three diving boards and a high dive. I love that the Pool with the slides starts at my waist and ends at my collarbone at its deepest. My two older children, ages 9 and 11, can stand up in the entire Pool.
