Most Common Questions, I Get Asked About Living In Lithuania

When we moved overseas the first time in 2017 I had never left the United States… I didn’t even have a passport. I honestly had no idea what to expect and a lot of the things that I thought were going to be an issue weren’t an issue at all! Now that we live in Lithuania I have found our family and friends asking us the same questions over and over. So I thought why not make a blog post and answer all the questions we have been getting daily about living in Lithuania. What side of the road do you driv[...]

Nashville, Tennessee

Below you'll find all the things I enjoy doing when I'm home visiting family. Although I haven't lived in Nashville in over 13 years I still call Nashville home. If you can get around a city without a GPS you can call that place home. (I have many homes at this point in my life!) Nashville will forever be my hometown tho.  Opryland Hotel We love staying at the Opryland when we visit Nashville. There's something to do year round!  Summer The Soundwaves outdoor waterpark is open. Walk to Gra[...]

Parenting in Lithuania

When we lived in Slovenia, I wrote a blog post about parenting in Slovenia. Now that we live in Lithuania, I thought it would be fun to write about my experiences in Lithuania. Much like Slovenia, it's not uncommon to see children Nolan's age 9 walking to school by themselves or taking the bus alone. Kids have more freedom in Lithuania than they do in the United States. Children in Lithuania also don't start grade school until they are age seven which is much different than the US at age 5. The older boys[...]

Our Life in Bags…Again

If you've followed my blog for a while you'll know that when we started this life, one of my first blog posts was called Our Life in Bags. I thought it was only fitting that at the start of this new journey I would start with the exact same topic, with some tips and tricks, I've learned along the way. As a disclaimer, some of the links in this blog may be affiliate links... but I promise I love all the items I'm recommending and personally own them myself! The first set of movers came and they took 1,000[...]

The Beginning… Life in Lithuania.

It's been a week since we arrived in Vilnius, Lithuania. I can't believe I'm typing that... it's crazy how quickly time flies when you're having fun and trying to figure out life in a different country. Our first week looked like Moving into our new house! We got super lucky and were able to be picked up at the airport and moved right into our new house. Our air shipment was actually waiting for us in our garage! We had great sponsors they packed our frig full of great food and brought some things ove[...]

Gilroy’s U-Pick Cherries

Today the boys and I went on an adventure to Gilroy, CA U-pick cherries. We've been strawberry and apple picking many times, but we've never been cherry picking. So when I saw the advertisement for U pick cherries I loaded the boys up and headed to Gilroy. (If you're new to Monterey that's about a 45-minute drive to Gilroy) This is the first time that this farm has offered U-Pick Cherries and they'll be open the next two weekends Thursday-Sunday (June 20-23) and (27-30) at 5920 Frazier Lake, Gilroy CA mak[...]

Venice, Italy

Tyler's parents came to visit us in Slovenia in October, and the one thing that they really really wanted to do was go to Venice, Italy. We were lucky enough to only live 2 hours away, and it was so close I honestly couldn't say no.  Below is everything I did/wish I would have done. I hope this list makes visiting Venice with your children easier. It's so crowded! I feel like Venice has more Americans squeezed into that tiny city than any city in America! I'm not even kidding, it was like I drove[...]

Home Is Where My Family Is

Hello! I've been super silent as this move from Slovenia back to The United States has been challenging! I'm super used to moving... this is my 8th move in 8 years, but what killed me this time was the amount of time our stuff took to get to Slovenia (74 days); we got our property, and our home in Slovenia felt like home FINALLY! Just to pack it all back up and send it back to The United States for it to take another 105 days to get back to Monterey. You don't realize how exhausting moving is until you've mad[...]
