Franklin, Tennessee

I grew up in Gallatin, Tennessee, about 30 minutes north of Nashville. Growing up, Franklin, Tennessee, wasn’t super popular; Nashville wasn’t that popular either. However, both Nashville and Franklin, Tennessee, have gained popularity with tourists over the years.
I traveled home recently for my grandfather’s funeral, and while I was home, I knew I wanted to do something to keep my spirits up! My grandmother and grandfather loved Nashville and country music, so it is only fitting that I play tourist while in town.
Franklin, Tennessee, has gained in popularity over the years; I can’t tell you the last time I was in Franklin, but I can tell you that it’s often I run across this cute town in magazines, on social media, and blogs. I’m excited to share with you everything I did on my day trip to Franklin, Tennessee!

Shopping Downtown Franklin

Downtown Franklin is full of little boutiques and mom-and-pop shops. You can fill your day walking in and out of each shop. This is the perfect place to pick up Tennessee-specific gifts for family and friends. I also loved how 90% of the things I saw where handmade or locally made. I’m a big fan of supporting small businesses.

My Favorite Downtown Franklin Shops

The Greenroom– The Greenroom was filled with a lot of great things! I loved that they support the environment. I picked up one of my favorite things from this trip! My Nashville candle. I wanted to “bring Nashville home,” and I did that with a candle.

Hearts and Hands– Handcrafted in Tennessee items! Minus the Polish Pottery. I was shocked when I walked into this store and found Polish Pottery! So much pottery! I was also surprised to see the price tags, they weren’t too expensive (More than what you would pay in Poland) but for the items to be imported, shipped, etc from Poland to The United States I would say the prices were a fair price. If you’re looking for Polish Pottery or handcrafted items, make sure to stop by this store.

Hester and Cook– This store was super cute! I wish I had a dinner party to plan because this is where to get everything. Super cute place settings, napkins, napkin holders, and the cutest cards. (I’m a sucker for cute cards!)

Rooted is a super cute boutique plant shop. This store had so many unique & classic house pets. I wanted to pack them all up and bring them home with me.

Best Thrift Stores

I love a good thrift store! I always try to find the best places for thrifting when visiting a new city. Franklin is an upper-class city, meaning that a lot of the people living in Franklin are wealthy. This means that the local thrift shops usually are excellent! So while in Franklin I thought I would stop by a few local spots and see what items I could find! Below are two Goodwills that I visited.

Places To Eat

Biscuit Love– A locally owned business (My personal favorite) #breakfastforgood which is their tag line that means you can be proud to know your purchase went towards something good. It goes towards supporting our staff of “Biscuits,” our city’s non-profit organizations, and our local community’s farmers and purveyors. It’s not just breakfast. It’s breakfast for good.

Other Places to Shop While Visiting Franklin

Cool Springs Galleria– Home to some pretty big-name brands.

Franklin Farmer’s Market– Open on Saturdays 8:00-1:00 PM

I hope this helps you plan your trip to Franklin Tennessee! It’s the cutest town located just south of Nashville, Tennessee and would make the perfect day trip.
