My Favorite Travel Items

When we first started traveling as a family, I didn’t know where to start on purchasing travel gear. I don’t even think we owned a suitcase at the time. Over the last twelve years, we have learned as a family what works and what doesn’t work. I hope this blog post helps you prepare for your next trip!

Luggage Cover

Airports can be really rough on luggage. It’s just a matter of time before you fall victim to a broken piece of luggage, and the last thing you want to happen during a vacation is not having your clothes. I love luggage covers because they provide your luggage with an extra layer of protection.  (Not to mention, they’re super cute too!)

Before moving overseas, I had no idea how hard it would be to keep us with multiple passports. For the longest time, I was carrying our passports around in a ziplock bag, until one day, I was at the airport and saw this mom pull out this multiple passport holder. I immediately got online and ordered one. Purchasing a family passport holder has made traveling as a family of five so much easier!

Compression Packing Cubes

I’ve been using packing cubes for many years! It makes traveling with multiple children in one suitcase so much easier! (Trust me) However, I just recently discovered compression packing cubes. When every inch counts, it might be worth purchasing these packing cubes that are designed to give you more room.

This might be my favorite travel item or everyday life item. I take a power bank on every trip and every hike. You never know if you’ll have a long layover (where all the plugs are taken) or if you’re in the woods and your phone dies. This is a great everyday item to have and if you don’t have one, trust me when I say you need one!

Ipad Holder For The Car

The iPad holders have saved me so many times on a road trip!  Let’s be honest: road trips can be hard on children. I try and make vacations and road trips as stress-free as possible. These iPad holders velcro over the seat, and the rubber bands hold the iPad into place. It is super easy to use and small enough to store under the seat when not in use.

I like traveling with an extra bag for multiple reasons. First, you never know when your suitcase will break, and buying a new suitcase can be expensive and just a hassle you don’t want to mess with on vacation. The second reason is just in case you find things you want to bring home and don’t have enough room in your suitcase. It might be worth it to you to check another bag. This duffle bag zips into a square, and you can throw it in almost any suitcase.

TSA Approved Travel Containers

I can’t be the only person who stresses out over the amount of liquids I’m bringing on an airplane, right? Most of the time I end up bringing nothing because I get so stressed out that I’m going to bring too much. I recently purchased these containers for a trip and it made packing my liquids so much easier.
