Tyler graduates DLI (Defense Language Institute)

It amazes me how fast a year can FLY by when you’re having fun! It feels like yesterday we were driving across the United States, I can remember my first time driving up the coast of Monterey Bay thinking, “WOW… this is our home for the next year”. I still drive up Hwy 1 (coastal highway) every morning to drop Nolan off at school and the view of the ocean takes my breath away.

Tyler’s first day of school was October 22, 2015. I still remember him packing his backpack the night before. I also remember that we still had boxes in our house that needed unpacking (that’s how quick moving and school happen). For the last year, Tyler has had a very strict study schedule. He would start studying every night at 8pm and would study until 10pm every night.

Luckily for me, I also started working. I thought finding work online would be something I could do at night while Tyler studied, and it has worked out well. I worked, Tyler studied. Then on Friday night we would spend together.

Two weeks ago Tyler took a series of three tests, one for speaking, reading, and listening. He then had to wait basically a week to get the results. He passed yay! He graduated this past Thursday, Heath and I attended, while Nolan went to school (Nolan’s class was doing something fun at school and he didn’t want to miss it!).

The movers will be here in 9 days! We will be in Tennessee on the 20th and then on to Slovenia by the end of this month! Yes, we will be in Slovenia before the month of November is over! (CRAZY)
